Clay Car Creation Workshop Inspires Young Designers in Plovdiv | Craftwork4.0All

By oecon_admin  Published On 21 September 2026

As part of the Craftwork4.0All project, OECON BG organized an engaging Clay Car Creation Workshop in Plovdiv, led by multidisciplinary artist Pietro Longo, whose professional experience includes collaborating with automotive companies to create clay models for vehicle design projects.

The workshop brought together children, young people, parents, educators, and craft enthusiasts for a hands-on introduction to three-dimensional modelling and automotive design. Participants discovered how clay modelling is used within the automotive industry to transform ideas into tangible concepts before moving into production.

Following an inspiring introduction by Pietro, participants learned the basic principles of vehicle design and began creating their own miniature clay cars. Guided step by step through the process, they shaped the body of their vehicles, attached wheels, refined details, and added personal creative touches to make each model unique.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the opportunity to work directly with a professional artist who shared practical insights into design, creativity, and craftsmanship. Despite using the same materials and techniques, participants produced a remarkable variety of vehicle concepts, showcasing their imagination and individuality.

Beyond developing practical modelling skills, the workshop encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and artistic self-expression in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Young participants were particularly enthusiastic about transforming simple materials into complete vehicle models and proudly presenting their finished creations to the group.

The activity successfully combined elements of art, design, and engineering, demonstrating how traditional craft-based techniques can be applied to contemporary creative industries. By encouraging active participation and collaborative learning, the workshop strengthened community engagement while inspiring young people to explore new forms of artistic and creative expression.

Through initiatives such as this, the Craftwork4.0All project continues to promote craftsmanship, creativity, cultural participation, and lifelong learning across local communities.
