Strong Participation and Inspiring Ideas Mark the Success of “Craft and Art as a Bridge” at TexTailor Expo

The session “Craft and Art as a Bridge – Exploring EU Programmes for Creative and Social Impact”, organised by OECON GROUP Bulgaria within the framework of the European project Craftwork4.0All, was successfully delivered during TexTailor Expo in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on 19–20 March 2026.

Over the course of two dynamic days, the event attracted a large and diverse audience, including artists, craftspeople, textile professionals, cultural practitioners, students, and representatives of creative organisations. The strong participation highlighted the growing interest in connecting traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, innovation, and social impact.

The session, delivered by Elena Kopanarova, Project Manager at OECON GROUP Bulgaria, focused on how major European programmes such as Creative Europe, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe can support the development of creative and socially impactful projects. Participants explored funding opportunities, mobility schemes, and collaboration possibilities, while also discovering inspiring examples of EU-funded initiatives in the fields of crafts and textiles.

Discussions and exchanges throughout the event provided valuable insights into topics such as sustainability, circular economy, cultural heritage, social inclusion, and creative entrepreneurship. Attendees were encouraged to transform their ideas into concrete project concepts and to build partnerships that can strengthen the role of craft and art in shaping a more innovative and inclusive future.

The successful organisation and high level of engagement confirmed the importance of creating spaces where tradition meets innovation, and where creativity becomes a powerful bridge for collaboration and positive social change.
